2008-08-09 05:04:26

The stallion 'LUX Z' represented by his first crop of 4yo sons and daughters having won three of the four qualifiers to get to Dublin and with total of eleven of his progeny being represented in the very prestigious Horse Sport Ireland Sponsored Mr Springfield 4yo Championship, it was no surprise that the winners of the first qualifiers at the famous Simmers Court arena would come from this 'LUX Z' eleven. The Jim O'Neil bred 'LUX Z' son 'CASTLEFIELD MAXIMUS'impressed the judges so much that he won by a margin of ten points with two 'LUX Z' taking up the minor placings. The second division of this championship took place on friday and this son of 'LUX Z' equally impressed by winning again and leading the charge of two 'LUX Z' and one 'COURAGE' to represent Kedrah House Stud in this final on saturday morning. 'LUX Z' dominance at the show was further copper fastened on wednesday when the 3yo son bred by Ann Redmond won the inaugural Future Competition Horse (class 61) and took the Royal Dublin Society Perpetual Challenge Trophy. This young 'LUX Z' superstar was purchased by Kedrah House Stud for the present owner William Shanahan from his breeder Ann Redmond, Kedrah House Stud also advised Ann Redmond on the purchase and stallion selection of this lovely 'Paris Light' mare. On wednesday evening a son of 'LUX Z', 'SCOTT FREE', ridden by Andrew Bourns was leading the very popular 4yo Young Event Horse Championship going into the the final stage in the main arena. One fence denied this fantastic moving son of 'LUX Z' out of a 'CAVALIER' mare, from taking the red rosette and had to settle for 3rd place in this prestigious class. Maurice Cousins 'LUX Z' 4yo was second in the Showing Ring in the 4yo Heavy Weight Class with his lovely looking son of 'LUX Z'. Katy Murphy, bred and showed the showed the lovely 'LUX Z' filly 'LUCY LUX' to obtain 2nd place in the 3yo Filly Class. This filly looks destined to have a big future possible in the eventing field if she is to follow in the footsteps of her sisters. 'RICARDO Z' bred two Supreme Hunter Champions. It is nearly impossible to follow the achievements of 'RICARDO Z' progeny at the RDS not to mention worldwide. With four of his progeny represented in the 5yo Young Event Horse Class and his Stud was also represented by the stallion 'COURAGE' who's daughter finished 2nd just being pipped for the red rosette. In the 4yo Young Event Horse Class 'FENYAS ELEGANCE' by 'RICARDO Z' owned and bred by P.J Hegarty was well placed in this class but went on the day after to win the 4yo Light Weight Hunter Mares Class and goes on for the Championship on saturday morning.
